Blog 3: Religion?

Hello there!..

Religion… who doesn't have a religion?

Actually, me.

In fact, although I come from a family with strong religious belief, I never felt identified with religion itself.

So… religion isn’t that important in my life.

I Personally see the topic from a distant point of view, as if it is a kind of phenomenon whose existence I never question. It just exists for me, and I think the only thing I have to say about it’s I don’t have a good or bad opinion about it, I actually think religion can be as bad or good depending on the person.

As I say, in my life I always felt distant from religion. In the beginning of my awareness about religion I saw religion like something optional and not something you just have to commit for some reason.

Maybe that comes from my dad, he never liked religion and he made sure to not make us part of any belief system…

I’m sorry if I’m being so ambiguous about the topic, I don’t have a strong relationship with religion , so I don’t feel comfortable with giving an opinion about something that can be so important for other people, so I'm just gonna say facts based on my experience, nothing to take seriously.

Well..., so all I can say is: if you are a person with strong belief in whatever religious you have, for me it’s ok, if you’re happy I’m happy, so all I think people can "do wrong" about their belief, is actually force someone to think or act the same as them. And that goes for politics too. I strongly believe we can’t make decisions about our politics  based on a religious belief, but that's just my opinion.

Well. That’s all for my part. Sorry if what I wrote was a little too awkward, I just don't feel comfortable talking about a subject that I am so ignorant of. So i let you speak, if you have a belief in some religion, what's your experience with it? I bet you have so much more to say than me about it.

I hope all of you have a good weekend and have fun :)

And remember, all I write here comes with all my respect for your beliefs, so I hope you don't feel offended, but if you have, I'm really really sorry.

and be careful with COVID 💛

  2. I really liked how you talked about religion here. We need to always be respectful especially in this kind of topics. I´m not religious either but i really find interesting to know what other people think obut it and reed about all the different religions.

  3. I totally agreed with you, when you said that they shouldn't force someone to act or think the same way as them, because we have to accept that everybody think differently and that's completely fine. It doesn't make you less person when you don't share the same opinion or even doesn't have an opinion about a topic. Personally I'm not a religious person but I do have faith and my own beliefs.

  4. It is great that as a child your father did not try to indoctrinate you or make you part of a religion, since most parents do and force their children to attend church or participate in rites and ceremonies that they do not even understand. In my opinion, religion implies the practice of faith and a series of significant acts that if not done voluntarily, lose all meaning, and therefore I think the attitude that your father had in this regard is very conscious.

  5. Mario, I enjoyed reading your post.
I rescue what you say in relation to "religion can be as bad or good depending on the person", also much has to do with our actions towards others and demonstrate with facts what we learn from life either from a religion or from the people around us.

  7. Hi mario! as you my parents come from very religious families, but they never made us participate in religion unless I or my brothers told them that we wanted to participate, I think that made us see religion as something optional and that we must respect the people who choose to follow some religion, just like you.

  8. hi mario! your way of seeing things is like mine, just like you, I am not religious, and as you say, religion has good and bad things depending on the person who uses it, in short, you just have to be a good person and if You need religion to support you, it's fine, if you don't need it, it's fine anyway.

  10. I really liked your post, the truth is, your opinion on this topic really catches my attention. I grew up in a very religious environment and the truth is that I have many doubts about my faith and what is actually professed by some people. They did not let me choose, they imposed a religion on me, but in this days, I try to forge my own path with respect it.
